Ranieri completed his radiology training in 2013 at the Federal University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Ranieri has always been passionate about musculoskeletal radiology. His interest gained traction after an observership in the Balgrist University Hospital in Zurich, Switzerland, in 2011. Ranieri undertook one year of a subspecialist fellowship training in musculoskeletal imaging in Brazil, followed by two years in Perth. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists and a member of the Australasian Musculoskeletal Imaging Group.

Being up-to-date is of utmost importance to Ranieri, who organises and participates in weekly discussions of scientific journals. He is devoted to teaching and research. Ranieri has been an invited lecturer at the University of Western Australia and has lectured to the WA Radiology Training Program. Ranieri has research projects in the field of imaging-guided procedures, wrist and hand diseases.

Besides diagnostic radiology, Ranieri has experience in a wide range of imaging-guided interventions. These include biopsies, corticosteroid injections and radiofrequency ablations for pain management. He has expertise in ultrasound-guided minimally invasive release for carpal tunnel syndrome, percutaneous releases for trigger finger/thumb and De Quervain’s tenosynovitis. Ultrasound-guided removal of foreign bodies and Implanon is also within his skillset.

Ranieri is committed to a high-quality level of patient-centred care and to evidence-based medicine.

Ranieri has worked for SKG and Capital Radiology before joining Envision in October 2021. During this time, he has concomitantly worked for Western Australia Health Department at Fiona Stanley, Fremantle and Rockingham Hospitals.
