Imaging News
Liberal candidate Celia Hammond and Senator Slade Brockman visited our Wembley practice in April to announce that an upgraded MRI licence has been awarded to Envision Medical Imaging.
Our new full MRI licence, extended from the partial licence previously held, means that patients are now able to access Medicare rebates for all current listed Medicare indications for an MRI, making the cost of this important medical imaging more affordable to our patients.
Radiologist Dr Ronny Low said of the licence “Without a licence, patients have to pay for the entire cost of their scans.” He explained that the previous partial licence held by Envision meant that only a few patients could access a limited number of scans for certain indications that were covered by Medicare, with many patients needing to pay for the entire cost of their scans. With the announcement by Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt that Envision Medical Imaging’s licence was extended to a full licence “this will mean that the cost of an MRI will go down,” said Dr Low.
Envision has two high quality, modern wide-bore MRI scanners (1.5T & 3T). This ensures better images and a far more comfortable experience for patients than many other scanners in WA. Most importantly, the excellent image quality allows for accurate diagnosis by our specialist MRI Radiologists.
Our practice welcomes this exciting news that will make high quality MRI scans even more accessible for our community.
